About the Book
Goodnight Flowers
A Bedtime Story
“Grandma, tell me the story of the
flowers.”
A child's late-night questions prompt
her grandmother to tell a bedtime story about a magical world of
flowers and fairies. Every night the fairies come to sleep amongst
the flowers and every morning the fairies sprinkle the flowers with
fairy dust and kisses to help them wake.
The child learns
many lessons from grandmother's bedtime story. She learns that the
flowers never try to stay up late and they are always polite and
agreeable in the morning. Best of all, the child learns that every
child is unique and special, just like the flowers.
Come discover a
beautiful fantasy world and a bedtime story filled with love. |

Reviews NEW
My 2-year-old daughter
loves this book, and so do we! It is the adorable nighttime story between
a grandmother and her little granddaughter about how the flowers fold up
their petals at night and how the fairies come to wake them in the
morning. There is a wonderful analogy between the fairies/flowers and
grandmother/granddaughter that will make any child feel very special. Our
little girl likes to read it over and over and over again (Again! Again!)
and because the text has such a lovely rhythm and meter I actually enjoy
reading it 27 times in a row! The words are calming and soothing, too, so
this is perfect for a bedtime story. My daughter also likes to quote this
book - pulling the blankets up to her chin to "keep out the chilly night
air" or telling me to "Shower her with kisses." The illustrations are also
delightful and depict beautiful flowers and fairies with butterfly wings.
The art is detailed enough so that you see something new on each reading,
but with clean lines to please young eyes. In conclusion, this is a sweet
and beautiful book that our little girls will cherish.
