About the Book
A Word To Ponder... one word can have an
enormous impact, even be life changing. Think about the tremendous
power that words have in our lives. A word can be powerfully
positive or negative and can greatly affect our thoughts and
behaviors. Within these pages lie a series of alphabetical words,
all of which are positive and affirming. Choose any word from any
page and watch the impact on your frame of mind and sense of being.
These positive words can change a bad day into a good one, an
unpleasant situation into a tolerable one. Each of us has busy lives
and unending to-do lists. This book is intended as a pleasant break
from those stresses and challenges of life. One can even find this
book very helpful in composing thank you notes, other
correspondence, or in encouraging writing prompts for students. May
you ponder the contents of this book and
experience an uplifted and inspired mind and heart, and care for one
another.
The goal of this book is to promote and
encourage the use of positive words and language. The uses can be
many and varied including the encouragement of reading, a tool for
emergent readers, and an inspiration and a guide for writing. Due to
its collection of positive words, the book can be used in
educational settings to stimulate conversations, role-playing, and
problem solving. Another application for the book is even in
correspondence such as encouraging the writing of thank you notes in
children and adults alike. The intended audience is
multi-generational – the wide range from young, emergent readers to
elders and grandparents sharing it with their grandchildren or other
young people in their communities.
The book was compiled and published in 2005 and is registered and
copyrighted with the Library of Congress.
